For us women, this webinar topic affecting women is peculiar to our interest. In today's world since the women's lib, women came out of their shells and actively worked more than ever as breadwinners with their partners (husband), but still, they take on most flexible roles of household responsibilities and familial duties like cooking, cleaning, laundering, taking care of the children, and wife's duties to their husband. From their "intimate spaces" at home to new spaces of participation in the web like Youtube as the platform representing the online participating spaces, the transformation has led to the understanding of the web as a space where participatory culture can overcome barriers gaining freedom to create alternative identities. Female representations are limited and influenced by stereotypes (Grizzle, 2014). However, women nowadays have the most participatory engagements in a platform where they can sing like "Smule", "We Sing", "Starmaker", among others. Well at least, they can express themselves in singing as an outlet perhaps to destress and be entertained at the same time. It's in singing that women are more inclined to do from the karaoke in their respective homes to online platforms where they can create an alternative identity. There are women who were already monetized online. Thank you so much IGP for organizing this platform where learning has been renewed and restored. Awesome!
Very interesting and useful topic and know the potentials of the women even if they are married. Thank you very much IGP!
