EXCELLENT WEBINAR
Thank you so much IGP for such a great session! So much of the speaker's presentation was just what I needed to boost my mindset in working practices in the academe. Injecting a bit more optimism and gratitude into our life is a simple action that can give us a more radical positive outlook on life. Attending to the positive does not neglect difficulties; instead, it builds knowledge on processes and conditions that make schools stimulating and engaging places in which to teach and learn. I highly appreciated the structured PERMA approach as a signature model in positive psychology. Seligman proposed this model to help explain and define wellbeing in greater depth. PERMA is an acronym for the five facts or new positive well-being theories: P- positive emotions; E-engagement; R- (positive) relationship, M-meaning; A-accomplishment. To what field can we turn in order to learn more about these positive approaches? Hoy and Tarter (2011) suggest that positive psychology is a field that offers important knowledge to educational psychologists and educational administrators. To Seligman (2002), positive psychology aims to better the quality of life rather than solve existing problems; likewise, Kurz (2006) stated that positive psychology focuses on the proper concentration of competencies and capacities rather than problems. Positive psychology is an aggregate term that covers well-being, satisfaction, happiness, emotional satisfaction, optimism, faith, and zest for work, which all concern subjective positive experiences. For all professions, the pleasant idea can be associated with the work. The pleasure foresees job satisfaction as well as life satisfaction. To such a wide topic that focuses on how to help human beings prosper and lead healthy, happy lives with some fantastic takeaways which I can put into practice, I was tremendously delighted with the speaker's insight and input. Once again, thank you so much IGP for the knowledge. Splendid!
