This webinar was so awesome that it had its indispensable value in research writing that covers a wide range of innovations. Both speakers were versatile in delivering rigorous and relevant insights that spur the interest of the research-inclined participants. Phases of innovation are highlighted in the research environment due to advances in computer applications that have brought radical changes in the way information is gathered, stored, organized, accessed, retrieved, and consumed. Also, researchers are dependent on e-resources to get the desired and relevant information. A variety of information and its sources, web tools and apps, searching techniques, and strategies fit into the current research landscape such as internet search tools, gateways, and databases, search engines, boolean searching, advanced searching among others. Boolean search allows users to combine keywords with operators (or modifiers) such as AND, NOT, and OR to further produce more relevant results. CRAAP (Currency, Relevance, Authority, Accuracy, and Purpose) provides a list of questions to help evaluate the information that was found. Mendeley is quite fascinating that helps organize research, collaborate with others online, and discover the latest research. Plagiarism classifies how plagiarists conducted their unethical fraudulent practice into mosaic, paraphrasing, incremental, complete, self, accidental, source-based, direct, or verbatim among others and research output can be verified by way of plagiarism checking tools such as Turnitin and Dupli checker.
