There are great opportunities to make learning real for the students and service-learning is one of them as students' response to authentic assessment. When students take the class content they have learned and applied it in practical contexts, they not only indulge in internalization but in immersion. The real-world application of classroom knowledge in a community setting allows students to synthesize in more meaningful ways as service-learning experiences provide opportunities for learners to critically reflect upon their service experience. Relative to this, authentic assessment empowers students to take charge of their own learning process by engaging genuine service in the community as learners and community members. This educational method provides meaningful and influential life experiences, thereby extending learning beyond the academic terms, and laying the foundation for continual personal growth throughout their academic experience and beyond. Thus, students demonstrate success both academically and interpersonally. The resource speakers to this webinar underscored the in-depth working definition of authentic assessment. Thank you IGP for the learning experience. I am really grateful for this opportunity of learning for free. This is awe-inspiring!
